As a Safety Officer 3,
You are in charge of safety management in the workplace. You will be providing advice, monitoring, reporting and engaging staff in programs that ensure safe practices.
You will be responsible for facilitating compliance with occupational health and safety (OHS) guidelines and must have a detailed understanding of measures to minimize hazards or unhealthy situations in the workplace. You will also be on a constant lookout for violations and will largely focus on prevention which means we need you to be detail-oriented, conscientious and farsighted and ready to act in emergencies.

Regularly inspect equipment

Carries out inspections of workplaces and takes appropriate action to ensure compliance

Responds to and investigate complaints and concerns from workers/employers and take appropriate action

Investigates accidents and injuries that occur in the workplace

Performs prescribed industrial hygiene surveys using technical equipment, evaluates results, and takes appropriate action

Responsible for the establishment of workplace safety and health committees, and monitoring their performance

Minimum of 3 years experience in this position

Valid DOLE OSH Practitioner Status or SO3 Certified is a prerequisite

Valid competency certificates

Registration as a Health and Safety Officer

Proficient in all Microsoft Applications

Ability to develop, implement and coordinate comprehensive fire & life safety accident prevention programmes
-
Ability to lead and direct teams (ERT) and safety committees (‘Loss & Crisis Committee’)
-
Advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.

Decisions are made with a thorough understanding of procedures, company policies, and business practices to achieve general results and deadlines. Responsible for setting work unit and/or project deadlines. Errors in judgment may cause short-term impacts on the department.
